How This Pace Calculator Works

This pace calculator helps you work out your average pace, average speed, and projected race times based on the distance you covered and how long it took.

You can enter distance in either kilometres or miles, then add the total time in hours, minutes, and seconds. The calculator uses that information to estimate your pace per kilometre and per mile.

It also projects what the same pace would look like over standard distances like 5K, 10K, a half marathon, and a marathon, which makes it useful for training, goal setting, and race planning.

It works well for runners, joggers, walkers, race preparation, and checking whether your recent training pace lines up with a target event time.

Distance Enter how far you ran or walked, using either kilometres or miles.
Time taken Add the full time for that distance in hours, minutes, and seconds.
Pace Pace shows how long it takes you to cover one kilometre or one mile on average.
Projected times The calculator estimates how long standard race distances would take if you held the same pace.

Pace Calculator FAQs

A pace calculator works out how long it takes you to cover one kilometre or one mile on average, based on the distance and total time entered.
Pace is usually shown as time per kilometre or mile, while speed is shown as distance per hour, such as kilometres per hour or miles per hour.
Yes. This calculator supports both kilometres and miles, and it automatically shows pace in both formats.
They are estimates based on holding the same average pace over a different distance. Real race performance can vary depending on terrain, fatigue, weather, and pacing strategy.
It is useful for runners, joggers, walkers, race planners, and anyone who wants to understand training pace, speed, or goal times.
Yes. The calculator works for walking as well as running, as long as you enter the correct distance and total time.
